Fundraising Goal Reached – Thank You!
Monday 26th MayI’m happy to share that I’ve reached my fundraising goal for Pink Ribbon. A big thank you to everyone who donated and supported this effort — your contributions are making a difference.
Although I’ve hit my target, I’m continuing with the walking challenge. It’s something I genuinely enjoy: getting outside, staying active, and doing something purposeful is rewarding in itself.
Breast cancer affects 1 in 7 women during their lifetime, and research is essential for improving early detection, treatment, and survival rates. Thanks to initiatives like Pink Ribbon, we can support that research and raise awareness.

10 KM for Avondvierdaagse & Pink Ribbon
Thursday 22nd May
Yesterday I walked 10 kilometers as part of the Avondvierdaagse – a Dutch tradition where children (and often their parents) walk set distances over four evenings. It’s organised nationwide by the KWbN (Koninklijke Wandel Bond Nederland) and is a great way to get kids moving and communities together.
I walked with my daughter, and it was a fun and active evening. Along the way, we passed through neighborhoods, parks, and fields, cheered on by volunteers and other families.
At the same time, I used the walk to support my Pink Walk for Pink Ribbon, raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Combining both walks made the 10 km feel even more worthwhile.
Thanks to everyone who has supported my Pink Walk so far – your support really helps make a difference!

Halfway There: Steps for Strength, Science & Serenity
Thursday 15th May
We’re halfway through the Pink Ribbon walk, and it’s been an energizing mix of morning mist, sunshine, and meaningful purpose. There’s something deeply restorative about walking in nature—how it clears the mind, lifts the mood, and connects us to something bigger.
I’m proud to take part in this challenge with Team Sharp, as we walk together in support of breast cancer awareness and research. Behind every step is a reminder of why we do this: breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women during their lifetime. Thanks to continued research, survival rates have improved—especially when the disease is detected early and treated with targeted therapies.
Science keeps moving forward, and
every contribution helps. If you’d like to support me on this journey, your
donation would mean a lot.
