Payment can be made in 3 ways:

Will I receive a tax receipt for my participation fee?

add remove

You will not receive a tax receipt for your registration fee from The Pink Walk.

On the “Make a donation” webpage (https://kbs-frb.be/nl/pink-ribbon-fonds-vrienden-van) you can make a donation to the Pink Ribbon Fund, which is then tax deductible. Please note that donations are only tax-deductible from €40. This donation will also appear on your individual fundraising page after a few working days.

I have already participated and want to register again. During my registration I get an error message. How come?

add remove

The company remembers your e-mail address. You can continue by clicking on “I already have an account”. You will then enter your e-mail address and password. The platform wil now automatically complete your personal data. Previous company or team data will not be taken over.

Steps

What is the purpose of The Pink Walk?

add remove

An active and healthy lifestyle can significantly reduce your risk of (breast) cancer. That’s why Pink Ribbon is calling for people to exercise more for one month. That certainly does not have to be 10,000 steps a day. During registration, the platform asks you to enter a daily goal. So you choose how many steps you want to take each day.

Your page will show your final goal. If your daily goal is 10,000 steps, the platform will multiply this by 31 (since May has 31 days). Your final goal then stands at 310,000 steps.

How can I add my steps?

add remove

You can connect Fitbit or Garmin smartwatches directly to the platform. Furthermore, you can also connect to Google Fit. Of course, you can also participate without a pedometer! Follow these steps to connect your pedometer.

  13. Google Fit works with several apps such as Strava.

Do the steps that I've taken in February, March and April count as well?

add remove

Nice that you registered so early! You can indeed connect your pedometer from the moment you register or manually enter your daily number of steps. That way, you can find out in advance how everything works. On May 1, we will reset the counters to 0 and really start the joint challenge.

Can I register other sports than just walking?

add remove

Yes, because our focus this year is “more exercising”, you may also register other sports on the platform.

! However, it is important that you do not enter your mileage but use the formula below, otherwise this will give a distorted picture and you will be (wrongly) in first place on the scoreboard.

10 minutes of exercise = 1,500 steps

If you cycle, swim, play tennis, etc. for an hour, this corresponds to 9,000 steps (6 times 1,500 steps).

I enter my steps manually, until when can I do that?

add remove

You can enter steps until Wednesday June 4. Of course, you will only be able to do so for the number of steps you walked in May. After the 4th of June, we will close the possibility to enter steps. On Thursday June 5, we will then be able to provide a complete overview of the total number of steps and how many times we have walked around the world.

Can I still enter steps on the 1st of June?

add remove

You certainly can! Anyone can enter steps until Wednesday June 4. Of course, this will only be possible for the steps you walked throughout May. After the 4th of June, this option will be switched off.

Sponsorship

Why does the platform ask me at the registration if I want to make a sponsorship?

add remove

Since the platform is a fundraising platform, the question is raised in connection with a sponsorship. Of course, this remains  a free choice. Those who do not want to sponsor, certainly do not have to. Therefore, you can also set your goal to € 0. However, removing the sponsorship goal is not possible. Thus, sponsorship is certainly not an obligation to participate.

Do I get a tax receipt for a sponsorship of an individual, team or company?

add remove

You will not receive a tax receipt for your registration fee of The Pink Walk.

However, on the “Make a donation” webpage (https://kbs-frb.be/nl/pink-ribbon-fonds-vrienden-van) you can make a donation to the Pink Ribbon Fund, which is then tax deductible. Please note that donations are only tax deductible from € 40. This donation will also appear on your individual fundraising page after a few working days.

How do I ask others to sponsor me?

add remove
  1. On your personal profile page, go to the “request support” button.
  2. Then you can choose to copy the support link or generate a QR code.
  3. You can share this support link or QR code with your network.
  4. You can also choose to ask for support through your social media channels or you can also send an email.

Teams

Should we as a team always walk together?

add remove

No, definitely not! The platform will automatically aggregate your individual steps. Of course it is nice to walk together and motivate each other, but this is certainly not a must.

Can I still create my own team when I am already individually registrered?

add remove

You certainly can. You click on your name in the upper right corner and go to your personal dashboard. There you will see, between the options “my page” and “my account”, the other option “create a team”. When you select that option, you can quickly and easily create your own team and invite others to be part of your team.

As team captain, you can add additional team members at any time by going to the next page: https://pinksupport.pink-ribbon.be/login/team/members. Then select “Add team member” at the bottom. The new team member will have to pay for hir or her own participation.

Can I still join an existing team when I am already individually registered?

add remove

Yes you can. However, you can only be part of one team and not multiple teams.

Public team

You search for the team in question using the search bar at the top of the page. On the team page, you will find the “Join us” button. By clicking on it, you will become a member of this team.

Private team

The team captain must first provide you with a link to join the team in question. It is important that you are individually registered first.

Why don't I see my team on the leader board?

add remove

Your team will appear only from the moment one of your teammates has taken the first steps. As long as the step counter is at zero, your team will not be listed on the leader board.

Can I pay for teammates online afterwards?

add remove

No. You can only pay for your teammates when register individually. If you want to add more teammates afterwards, they have to pay for their own participation.

My individual leader board is correct, but my team's step count is too low. How is this possible?

add remove

The individual scoreboard shows how many steps each participant has taken. On the team scoreboard we do not display the total number of steps. To make a fair distribution between the different teams, the average number of steps per team is displayed. Thus, the total number of steps of all team members is divided by the number of team members. Thus, a team of 2 can compare itself to one of 20.

Companies

My company had created a profile and will pay for my registration. Yet I get a payment screen, why is this?

add remove

The company admin has received a company promotion code. This is a unique code that your company uses to pay for your participation. Enter this code as a discount code at the payment screen via the “I have a promotion code” button. The amount of € 12 should now change to € 0. This completes the payment window. If you have not received the code, please check with your company admin.

I have created a company page. How do I invite people to participate?

add remove

You do this by providing the desired people with the company link. This can be found via “My company” – “My dashboard”, along with the company code. At the payment screen (which everyone gets to see) they can enter this code, via “I have a discount code”.

This company code can be found via “My dashboard”. Please note that only the company admin can see this code on his/her profile. It is not visible to anyone else on the platform.

Can I add additional members to an existing company?

add remove

The company admin can add additional members at any time through the page: https://pinksupport.pink-ribbon.be/login/team/members. Then select “Add Team Member” at the bottom. Then the new member enters the company promotion code or pays for their participation themselves.

Why don't I see my company listed on the leader board?

add remove

Your company appears only from the moment one of your colleagues has taken the first steps. As long as the pedometer is at zero, you will not be listed on the leaderboard.

My individual scoreboard is correct but the total number of steps for my company is too low. How come?

add remove

The individual scoreboard shows how many steps each participant took. On the company scoreboard we do not show the total number of steps. To make a fair distribution between the different companies, the average number of steps per company is displayed. Thus, the total number of steps of all company members is divided by the number of company members. Thus, a company of 2 people can compare to one of 250.

Where can I find an overview of all participants within the company?

add remove

Only the company admin can download a complete overview of all participants. Click on your name at the top right of the screen. Then select “My Company” and “Company team participants”. In the center of the page, you can select “Download organization members”.

Where can I find promotional materials like posters, flyers of social media posts to use?

add remove

As with previous editions of The Pink Walk, we have designed a handy toolkit. In it you will find various resources such as sample emails, walking tips, visuals for social media, posters and even email banners. You can access this toolkit by clicking on “Inspirational Toolkit” in the menu in the top right corner. Now you can access all the tools in both Dutch and French, as well as in English.

Provinces

What is the competition between the provinces?

add remove

During the previous edition, the 10th edition in October, of The Pink Walk, Pink Ribbon launched a competition between provinces. Do people of West Flanders walk more than people of Antwerp? Or do they walk more in Walloon Brabant than in Liège? Show that your province supports (breast) cancer patients. Also this eleventh edition, you can help make your province the most active walking province in Belgium!

How do I become connected to my province?

add remove

When registering, you enter your zip code, which then automatically links you to your province. All your steps will appear on your province's scoreboard.

How are the steps calculated for each province?

add remove

The platform always calculates the average number of steps. All steps of all residents are added up and divided by the number of participants per province. This way, the battle is conducted in a fair way.

Can I join a province page when I am already affiliated with another team?

add remove

No, you can only ever be part of one team. When you register, after entering your zip code, you have automatically become part of your province and your steps will join your municipality's scoreboard.

In the search function, do I enter the zip code or the name of my province?

add remove

It is important to search by province and not by zip code. If you will search by zip code, it will not return search results.
